Business Talent Connection

The Business Talent Connection held on January 26th was another success. We had 5 (two of which were from the same firm) recruiters attend this event. These 5 recruiters were new to CMN as compared to those that attended the December event. Slowly but surely, the word is getting out about the talent pool at CMN. Of the CMN membership, 42 were able to attend and meet with the recruiters and network with other CMN members. Some of the folks who attended are new to CMN and new to networking.

The recruiters who attended all provided positive feedback regarding the event. As with last month, these 5 enjoyed meeting the members of CMN and were very impressed with the professionalism of the event and with its members. All the recruiters stated that they want an invitation to the next event in February.

As for the members, they were pleased with the number of recruiters who attended. One of the benefits that this event provided to the members is the importance of the “elevator speech”! Those new to networking realized that they have to improve their elevator speech when meeting many people in a short amount of time. They also learned as part of their elevator speech, it is important to create a brand so others know in few amount of words, what they do for a career. The other benefit of the event was members got to know each other in a relaxed friendly atmosphere and many got connected to new people.
