Your Body Language

Knowing how to read body language is an incredibly great advantage for you. Just by careful observance, you can actually figure out what a person is thinking; or in some cases, trying to hide. This skill alone puts you two or three steps ahead of other people.

Learning how to read body language is easy. All it takes is a keen eye and these tips to get you started!
  • Crossed Arms

Crossed arms are usually a sign of discomfort. The person might not be used to large crowds or being talked to. They might not be open to ideas and will certainly be less participative.

By knowing how to read this body language, you can save yourself a lot of unnecessary trouble and maybe even awkward situations.

  • Proximity

When a person leans more towards you or stands quite close to you, this is a sign of attraction or ease.

The more a person is comfortable or interested in you, the closer their body will be to you. So when you find yourself talking with a person who keeps their distance, either you have something on your face or they’re just not that into you.

  • Mirroring Of Gestures

Learning how to read body language is best practiced when you’re having a conversation with another person. In this case, you can check out whether the person is mirroring your gestures or not. Notice the way they follow your moves.

When a person mimics your actions subconsciously, they are in rapport with you without being aware of it. If that person knows how to use body language, then they might be intentionally mirroring you and trying to build rapport. Whatever the case may be, it’s all good for you.
Learning how to ready body language is an essential skill. It helps you make good decisions and deal with people better. After all, actions speak louder than words!
