Each week we come to these meetings to re-charge, network, and learn something new. It's not uncommon to feel sad or depressed about our current status, and the unknown future ahead. This page is meant to offer encouragement, and a reminder that this is only temporary. Better things are yet to come.

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne
New Age self-help book on the law of attraction with the thesis that one's positive thoughts are powerful magnets that attract wealth, health, happiness. The book also argues that fleeting negative thoughts are powerful enough to create terminal illness, poverty and even widespread disasters.

Movies

American Beauty (1999)
Insightful look of depressed suburban father during his mid-life crisis, who re-discovers the real meaning of life outside the rat race. Suddenly, keeping up with the "Jones" and maintaining an image are no longer important. Unfortunately, a chain of events abruptly intercedes his new found happiness.

Anger Management (2003)
Things go from bad to worse when a businessman is sentenced to an anger-management program led by an overly aggressive instructor. A comical display of how the program goes too far in prodding the protagonist to anger, and then punishing him later for it.

The End (1978)
Through an unfortunate diagnoses one man believes his life is about to have a painful end. After numerous bungled attempts at suicide he discovers his life is just too precious a gift to throw away. Convincing a psychopath not to kill him proves far more difficult.

Office Space (1999)
Comedic tale of office workers during the early "dot.com" days of the Internet, and how they hated their jobs and tried to cope with impersonal cubicles, working over the weekend, status reports, upper management, flair and more. The real tragedy here is that we're all trying to get back into this lifestyle!
